Eliminating through the GI Tract
Did you know that we could be digesting and eliminating after EVERY meal?! Unfortunately, highly acidic and mucus forming foods prevent us from doing that. The Digestive system is comprised of the mouth & salivary glands, stomach, small intestines, pancreas, liver & gallbladder. There are both mechanical and chemical processes of the digestive system. Chewing food with our teeth is an example of mechanical break down of coarse foods and compounds into simple structures in order to absorb & utilize. Enzymatic action (chemical) is the other one and helps with biological and biochemical transmutation of elements and complexes into more useable or storable substances.
The colon is part of the eliminative system and is made up of five basic sections. Wastes and by-products from digestion are eliminated through the large intestine called the colon. About 1/3 of old lymph is also eliminated through the colon also known as the bodies "sewer system”. The gastrointestinal tract covers the parts of our bodies from the mouth all the way to the anus. Years of eating a Standard American Diet (SAD) will seriously back up the GI tract and lead to further dis-ease in the body. It is said that most people have 10-30 pounds of mucoid plaque built up in their bowel walls. This dark, black, and dehydrated plaque lines our bowels and prevents us form properly absorbing and utilizing the nutrients from our foods. This is why some people feel like they can eat and eat and eat without feeling full or getting fat. When this happens the body is simply eating and pooping the nutrients out of the body.
Peristalsis is a rhythmic and wave-like motion that occurs in the digestive tract to help the food move along. When we eat food it stimulates nerves which triggers peristaltic action in the muscles. When we eat too much food it backs up the intestines and stops the peristaltic action therefore we only poop when we eat more food which helps move the old food further down and out of the GI tract. When we juice cleanse or eat more fruit it helps to move the bowels and get the peristalsis going again. This is why you may feel your belly cramping or moving more than usual. This is normal!
Symptoms of GI failure include: malabsorption and starvation, Gastritis, Enteritis, Colitis, Diverticulitis (pockets), Gas, Diarrhea, Constipation, Parasites, Chron's Disease, GI Cancer (most prevalent cancer in US), When GIT becomes toxic it sends toxicity to all parts of the body, Appendicitis, Lymphatic Congestion (blocks elimination), and Nausea upon eating.
Parasites are organisms that feed off of others. This includes tapeworms, roundworms, pinworms, flukes, yeasts, fungi, warts, viruses, bacteria, etc. An overgrowth of a very popular yeast known as Candida leads to fatigue, listlessness, itchiness, skin irritations, infections and a serious craving for sugars & starches. I’m sorry, its not you, its your parasites! Contrary to popular beliefs, fruits are VITAL to helping eliminate the candida from the body because of the astringent and antioxidant properties. I have had several friends as well as myself have serious improvement and elimination of candida from being on a high fruit diet. I feel my parasites & candida dying, especially on the heavy craving days! This is only the case for simple sugars/ fructose/ fruits NOT complex sugars or carbs- which are actually a fuel for candida.
